Description
Lilac lace and delicate floral sprigged Edwardian-style two-piece, handmade as costume in the 1970’s. Peplumed high-neck blouse with back fastening and leg of mutton sleeves. Exquisite pin-tucks to sleeve upper, bodice and neck. Long skirt with train, floral inserts and embroidered inserts. Lined with underskirt.
Condition: This beautiful piece was made many years ago as costume and, as such, has seen considerable wear which has resulted in some significant damage – most notably to peplum (see photos). Additionally, the fastenings and some of the internal finishing (and possible alterations) will have been done to a serviceable level only. Definitely a ‘fixer-upper’ but an absolute beauty nonetheless. Either repair and wear or simply love her as she is!
